I hope, you might have heard about ‘Detox’ or ‘De-toxification’ somewhere before. Although there are many things or habits which require ‘detoxification’ to lead a healthy & happy life, today, we’ll focus more on how can we detox our body.  For the people, who do not know, what ‘Detoxification’ is, Here’s the definition-

Detoxification of the body simply means, to remove all the toxins from your internal body and make it clean from inside, so that you have a light, fresh, and disease-free body.

Why we need Detox?

De-toxification is necessary to keep a balance inside. It also helps us to function normally in our daily routine.

Nature has already designed our body in such a way that it naturally cleans itself from time to time. It flushes out all the unwanted toxins, majorly through Sweating, Excretion, and Sneezing.

Here the question arises- If our body is already detoxifying itself, then why we need any additional method to do the same?

The main reason for this is our way of living today. Yes, we tend to eat more junk, packaged food, processed food on regular basis. Also, our physical activity due to modern work-life has become very less compare to earlier times. All these factors are enough to make it difficult, for our body, to digest the food properly.

Therefore, we need some extra push and enhancement so that the detoxification process becomes smoother and easier for the body.

Though there are many ways to detox your body, in this article, we’ll explore more about how we can detox our body through drinks-

Best Morning Detox Drinks

Water is the best detox

Just a glass full of lukewarm water in the morning is the best detox drink anyone can ever have. In fact, the main property of water is to do the cleaning of your body internally. Warm Water makes the detoxification smoother.

Though you must keep yourself hydrated throughout the day, drinking warm water first thing in the morning, works better for detoxification.

Lukewarm water is enough to detox the body, but if we also add some flavors into the water, then it increases its value more, in terms of health. And of course, enhances its taste, as well as make the drink more refreshing.

Here, I am going to share 5 amazing morning detox drinks, which are very basic, super refreshing, and at the same time, helped me a lot in better digestion, and to clean my body inside out.

Lemon-Honey Water

This is my first ever detox drink when I decided to have morning detox- drinks regularly. Adding Few drops of Lemon Juice along with half spoon of honey in lukewarm water, enhance the taste and health value of detox drink.

Both Ingredients work best for making your digestion smoother. Lemon is rich in Vitamin C, which boosts our immunity. Also, it has citric acid, which helps in balancing the Ph level of our body.

Honey, being a natural sweetener, makes the drink tasty.  Honey also has antioxidant properties, to reduce the cough.

Have a glass full of lemon-honey water first thing in the morning will refresh you instantly. 

Chia Seeds-Lemon Water

Being one of the Superfoods, Chia Seeds are one of the best sources of fiber. Also, it contains a good amount of protein, which can reduce our hunger cravings.

The regular intake of Chia Seeds with Water every morning, detoxify your body from the inside and helps in healthily reducing weight.

Soak 1 small tablespoon full of chia seeds in 1 glass of normal water overnight and have it in the morning as your detox drink. You can also add some lemon or orange slices, and mint to make it even tastier.

Cumin Seeds-Lemon Water

Cumin Seeds work best for digestion. When cumin Seeds mixed with Luke-warm water, it becomes the miraculous detox- drink and helps in weight loss. It also increases the metabolism of the body.

I usually switch my detox drinks weekly. Currently, I am having Cumin Seeds water in the morning. It helps me to feel fresh immediately and keeps me energetic throughout the day.

To consume the Cumin Seeds Detox Water, Soak a tablespoon of cumin seeds overnight in water. In the morning, remove the seeds and drink that water. Again, you can make it fresher & tastier by adding lemon or cinnamon into the drink.

Lemon-Mint-Cucumber Water

A fresh glass of lemon water with some slices of green cucumber and some fresh mint leaves is the most soothing drink ever to start your mornings with. This is my most favorite detox out of all five.

This drink fits amazing for summers, it makes you feel soothing, at the same time rejuvenates you instantly.

Lemon, being a natural detoxifier, cleanse out all the toxins, also boosts your immunity. Mint adds a cooling effect to the drink, improving your digestion better. Also acts as a pinch of sweetness in the drink.

Lemon-Ginger Water

Ginger has a lot of medicinal properties. It also works best to detoxify your body, Helps losing weight, and fight against cold and cough.

Ginger with Lukewarm Water is also known as ‘Ginger Tea’.  To prepare this, add 2-3 small pieces of ginger to the water and boil it. Remove the ginger and drink the flavored water. Add some lemon drops or lemon slices to increase its taste.

Ginger is warm in nature; hence it can produce more heat in the body. It is suggested not to drink it every day. Better to take it once in 2-3 days or once a week.

Bottom Line

All of these are my favorite detox drinks to have in the morning. But there are many other ways also to make your detox as per your needs and availability of ingredients. It will be great if you know your body properly, before taking any detox drinks.

Start your mornings with these amazing drinks. You’ll feel positive changes within few days. Also, along with detox, keep yourself hydrated throughout the day.
